Working in partnership with GIRES, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has created an eLearning resource to help professionals and families understand the needs of gender nonconforming young people. The Gender Variance eLearning programme is designed for healthcare staff of all levels and disciplines to understand how to help gender variant children, trans adolescents and their families. The programme consists of a single eLearning session which takes around 45 minutes to complete. The session is also suitable for support staff and people working in education.
The resource contains three 15 minute modules:
- An introduction to gender variance
- How to create supportive environments
- Critical information about medical interventions.
How to access the resource
All NHS staff in the UK with a valid NHS email account, e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org, are eligible for free access to the eFM resource. NHS email address holders should visit the following page and register: https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/gender-variance/
Registrations are completed twice weekly.
International and non-NHS staff will need to pay for access to the resource.
